How to select the correct bangle size for my child

How do I know my child's bangle size? Many parents call us and ask this question while buying Bharatanatyam dance Jewelry from our online store. Probably more than 15% of the questions we get are related to bangle size.

Selecting the right bangle size is crucial. You obviously don't want the bangles to be too loose and fall off of your child’s hands while she/he is performing. On the other hand, you need to make sure that your child is comfortable wearing them and not bothered by them being too tight.

So what’s the secret? How do I pick the perfect bangle size? On our website, the different sizes available are 2.2, 2.4, 2.6 and 2.8. If your hands are really big, then you need size 3.0, but we don't sell them. So, how big is a 2.2? Note that all the measurements are in inches. So, a 2.2 bangle size would be 2.2 inches across in diameter. Here are some easy steps to ensure that you child will be comfortable wearing his/her bangles.

  1. Find any random bangle that your child is comfortable wearing
  2. Take it and place it on a white A4 size sheet.
  3. Use a pencil to trace the inner circle of the bangle on the paper.
  4. Use a ruler to measure the diameter of the circle in inches. That is the correct bangle size for your dancer.

Many people order a bangle size based on how old their child is. For example, children under 6 will be usually be comfortable with a size 2.2. Kids that age from 6 to 10 can fit into a 2.4 or 2.6, and kids who are 12 years and above will probably have sizes 2.6 and 2.8. There is nothing wrong in doing this, but we recommend following the 4 simple steps shown above to avoid any mistakes on your part while ordering from our website. It is a safe, risk-free, accurate way to solve this problem.

Also you don't want the bangles rolling on the floor while your daughter is doing Bharatanatyam on stage...
